Objectives:

To support and enhance working partnerships between local health departments/local coordinating agencies and the Michigan Tribes that have sub-contracts with Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Programs.

To assist the Tribes and local health departments/coordinating agencies in establishing effective outreach and recruitment strategies to promote access and facilitate routine use of breast and cervical cancer screening services by Native American women.

To continue to support enhanced development of working relationships between newly reaffirmed Michigan Tribes and their closest local coordinating agency/health department and its BCCCP.

Activities:

Coordinate and Provide Culturally specific BCCCP Training and Education opportunities to Tribal BCCCP Nurses.

Provide current, culturally appropriate and effective educational materials to tribes as requested/needed.

Assist tribes in establishing working relationships with local BCCCP's for the purposes of accessing services for tribal members and to establish reimbursement for services provided.

Coordinate and disseminate effective outreach and recruitment activities/materials.
