Behavioral Health Programs
ITC Health Services Division

The Health Services Division of the Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan (ITC) is organized to provide technical assistance and consultation to the Federally Recognized Indian Tribes within the State of Michigan in the following areas: health and human services system planning, program evaluation, resource development, networking, advocacy and liaison activities, quality assurance, programming, communication, orientation, training and education, management information.

By working for and with the Federally Recognized Indian Tribes and Urban Indian Programs within the State of Michigan, The ITC Health Services Division plans for and implements programs that help to elevate the health status of Indian families, reducing morbidity and mortality rates, and the high risk factors that impact on the health of Indian people.

The ITC Behavioral Health Services programs operate as part of the ITC Health Services Division.  Behavioral Health Services is under the supervision of Mr. Rick Havekate, MPH, Health Services Director, and Ms. Sharon Teeple, Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan Executive Director.

Funding for programs within Behavioral Health Services comes from state contracts and a variety of state and federal grants.  The department is self-sustaining; staffing levels fluctuate depending on current grants and contract deliverables.  Behavioral Health provides programmatic and fiscal administration for the projects; Tribal Behavioral Health programs sub-contract with ITC to conduct direct services activities.

In 2005 and 2006, ITC Behavioral Health Services programs include:
