Mission Statement

 

Mission:

The mission of the MNATC is to eliminate disparities related to commercial tobacco abuse in our tribal communities by developing effective and  culturally appropriate tobacco prevention and education programs.

 

Goals:

·  An alliance is formed between tribal and tribal urban health staff to collaborate and provide tobacco awareness/education/cessation services to the tribal members in their communities.

·  Prevent commercial tobacco use initiation among our tribal youth

·  Eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke.

·  Distribute information as trainings, funding sources, and event are scheduled to tribal tobacco advocates.

·  At the forefront of this organization is the importance of incorporating the traditional and spiritual use of Semaa (tobacco) as a art of our Native culture.
