There is a severe shortage of Registered Dental Hygienists in Michigan, especially the Upper Peninsula. This has negatively impacted the quality of dental care for our Anishinaabe patients.
For several years, Northern Michigan University in Marquette has explored the concept of opening a Registered Dental Hygiene School on its campus.
I wholehearted support this effort.
