Grand Rapids Public Museum 272 Pearl St NW Grand Rapids, MI 49504 Anishinaabe Culture Day October 16, 2025 Thank you to students, educators, presenters, performers, staff, and volunteers for an amazing Anishinaabe Culture Day! This one-day event celebrates the history and culture of the Anishinaabek with visiting school groups through storytelling, performance, and activities in partnership with local tribe members and organizations. This is a great opportunity to immerse in the rich history of local Indigenous culture. Hear traditional songs and view colorful regalia with the drumming and dancing demonstrations, or learn from the Elders as they share oral histories through storytelling. Traditional art demonstrations include pottery, basketry, and corn husk dolls. Visitors may also engage with interactive stations hosted by local Tribal and Native American Community organizations. Don't forget to visit Anishinaabek: The People of this Place, an exhibit highlighting the culture and contributions of west Michigan's Odawa, Potawatomi, and Ojibwe communities.
